As a super fan, & as a critic from an outside point of view, I don’t think it would be a Scream movie without the notorious, and iconic voice of Ghostface. It’s worrisome to most to know that Scream 5 is well into production, & there’s been no contact with Roger to reprise the role? This film is special to most because it relies 100% on respecting Wes Craven’s legacy & respecting Scream. It was then Wes Craven, director, decided to keep him for the entirety of the film which lead to him being in every single film of the franchise. The presence & terror Roger’s voice brought to the scene while filming basically set the tone of what we now know as the voice of Ghostface. ![]() Jackson revealed that during Scream (1996) he was only supposed to be voice-acting for the opening sequence with Drew Barrymore, Casey Becker. What makes this a big deal- ESPECIALLY to the die hard Scream fans, is that Roger has been apart of the franchise since the very beginning. Jackson swiftly responded with, “I haven’t seen anything announced, have you?” “It is official?
